The vast majority of digital cameras have 4:3 sensors on them, resulting in 1.33:1 images. However, some cameras have auto cropping features built in allowing you to frame up your shots as if you had a real film camera shaped sensor or a HDTV shaped sensor. And it has a grid feature that would alow you to frame up your shots panoramic if you wanted and crop them in photoshop for a 2.66:1 aspect ratio

One nice thing about this camera it that the sensor it's self is a 8.4 Megapixel 16:9 aspect CCD. This allows you to be able to take RAW format pictures that will come out in 16:9 from a little old point and shoot camera. Pretty great.
Leica D-LUX 2 (a 16:9 sensor camera)
Has a 16:9, 3:2, and a 4:3 setting
This is the exact same camera as the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1 only for more money. The difference is the body design is prettier, it has the Leica logo on it, and it has an adapter for the "Digital Adapter 2" which allows you to screw your camera onto a telescope for all those time you're on a stake out and want to take photos of the mob with your point and shoot. To the right crowd it might be worth the extra $200.

It's the F10 but with aperture and shutter priority!
